Sean Burress Jr. arrives at Truman with a strong junior college pedigree and a reputation as one of the top facilitators in the NJCAA ranks. The 6-foot-1 guard spent last season at Southwestern Michigan College, averaging 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists across 26 games. He posted a season-best 22 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals against Lake Michigan College and finished inside the top 25 nationally in free throws attempted in NJCAA Division I. Before that, Burress was a standout at Sauk Valley Community College, averaging 11.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists while ranking eighth nationally with 147 total assists.
After redshirting at Georgia Southwestern and graduating from Thornton High School in 2023, Burress brings speed and playmaking ability to the Bulldogs’ backcourt. Coach Worley says, “I recruited Sean while at Troy as well. He was an excellent passer and creator in junior college. He brings speed and acceleration with the ability to create for others.”
