Adam Tandez

 

Adam Tandez has been part of Amy Eagan’s coaching staff since 2011 and was joined Eagan to be her assistant coach when she returned to Truman prior to the 2013-14 season. Tandez is a member of the WBCA Assistant Coaches Council.

Tandez works primarily with the post players and assists with practice, game planning, recruiting and scouting. He also organizes the Truman Women's Basketball Summer Camps and the Annual Tip-Off Wine Tasting.

In his first season, forward Bianca Szafarowicz was the GLVC Player of the Deaconess Conference Tournament after averaging 12.1PPG and 7RPG for the season, after only posting career averages of 4.1PPG and 3.8RPG through her first three years.

Tandez spent the 2011-12 season at Ashford (Iowa) as the team’s graduate assistant coach and was elevated the following season to assistant coach for the Saints. He served as the recruiting coordinator for Ashford Women’s Basketball and was responsible for signing the 18th-ranked prospect out of the state of Wisconsin.  He worked with the post players and oversaw the weight room and the team’s lifting sessions.  The Saints have also been ranked in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 the past two seasons.

While attending Marquette (Wis.) University, Tandez started and directed the women’s club basketball team and was a volunteer assistant coach for Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee. He was a camp instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Lady Phoenix Junior Elite Camp, DePaul (Ill.) Women’s Basketball Camp, Five-Star Basketball Camps and Adidas sponsored AAU Basketball camps. He was the head coach of the Wisconsin Impact, a 17U AAU girls’ team and worked two seasons in game operations for the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA.

Tandez is a member of the WBCA and on the national convention advisory group. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette in 2011 and his master’s degree from Ashford in Organizational Management in 2012.

Tandez and his wife, Julia, live in Macon, Mo.
