Truman
2017: Continued to establish herself as not just one of the best setters in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, but in program history as well ... appeared in all 32 of the team's matches and each of its 118 sets with 31 starts ... took home Second-Team All-GLVC honors ... in the program's career record book, Hughes moved up to third in assists per set with 9.11 and ninth in total assists with 2,242 ... among the best in the GLVC for 2017, Hughes was fifth in assists per set (9.91) and fifth in total assists (1,169) ... not only did the offense run through her, but she continues to be one of the best at starting it ... her 35 service aces were first on the team and tied for second in the league while her 0.30 aces per set were tied with Jasmine Brown for fourth in the conference ... despite a stellar first season on campus in 2016, Hughes set personal bests for kills (65), swings (195), assists, digs (339), solo blocks (9), block assists (44), and total blocks (53) ... those 339 digs were second on the team behind Lauren Wacker's 585 and above the net, Hughes was third on the team in solo blocks, fifth in assisted blocks and fifth in total stuffs ... racked up 17 double-doubles (assists and digs) including four with 30+ assists and 15+ digs and one with 40+ assists and 15+ digs when she had 46 and 16, respectively, on Nov. 10 in the final home match of the year against Missouri S&T ... went for 40 or more assists in a match nine times and 50 or more in a match three times ... the 54 she had on Oct. 28 vs. Southern Indiana tied a Truman best for the setter ... if Hughes turns in another season like this one when she's a senior, she's looking at the top four in career assists ... solo blocked two attack attempts in a single for the first time in her career in that USI match ... also assisted on four blocks in a single match for the first time in her career on Sept. 29 at William Jewell before doing it again on Oct. 21 at Missouri-St. Louis ... named Academic All-GLVC.
2016: Transferred to Truman from Central Methodist of the NAIA and it's pretty safe to say that she made an immediate impact ... one of only three Bulldogs to play in all 128 of the team's sets and one of six to appear in all 35 of the squad's matches while making starts in 30 of them ... is already in fifth place on the program's career record book for assists per set with 8.38 ... was the primary setter for the Bulldogs as a sophomore as she turned in 1,073 assists to go with 39 kills, 27 service aces, 333 digs, two solo blocks, and 23 block assists ... registered 15 double-doubles including five with 30+ assists 15+ digs ... tallied at least 30 assists 19 times, 40+ assists eight times and 50+ assists twice ... those 50+ assist efforts both came in the team's final five matches of the season as she did it against Rockhurst on Nov. 12 with 50 and Lewis on Nov. 19 with 54 ... those five matches with at least 30 assists and 15 digs were against Bellarmine on Sept. 24, Lake Erie on Oct. 15, Missouri S&T on Oct. 22, Drury on Nov. 18, and Lewis on Nov. 19 ... was able to rack up at least 30 assists in each of the final eight matches of the year ... when it came to work above the net, Hughes had at least one block just once in the first 17 matches of the season before reaching that feat in all but four of the final 18 matches of the year including seven efforts with multiple blocks, three at Wisconsin-Parkside on Nov. 5 and four vs. McKendree in the GLVC Tournament finals ... despite being a setter, was able to do some damage with her attack as she had multiple kills in 11 matches and a season-high five vs. Southern Indiana on Sept. 23 when she had just one error in eight total attempts for an even .500 hitting percentage ... named Academic All-GLVC.
Previous
Competed one season for the Central Methodist Eagles of the NAIA in Fayette, Mo. ... there, Hughes was part of a team that went 26-10 overall and she started each of those 36 matches ... she totaled 729 assists, 187 digs, 23 service aces, 16 kills, and two blocks.
High School
Lettered all four years while playing for the Eagles of Summit Christian Academy ... Also played soccer and softball for one year ... named second-team all-state as a senior, first-team all-conference three times and second-team all-conference once ... holds the school record for assists ... helped the team to finish as good as third place in the state tournament ... team was named academic all-state for three of her four years ... member of the National Honor Society as a junior and senior.

Daughter of Danan and Tifanni Hughes ... brother Taurin is a member of the Truman State men's basketball team ... is majoring in Elementary Education (English).
