Day 1 Results
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – A late push by Tony Hernandez and Taylor Frymire in the 200 Free Relay lifted the Bulldog Men's Swimming team to a 92-91 lead in the first day of their dual with Lewis University (Ill.). The Truman women hold a 118-65 advantage heading into tomorrow's second day.
Hernandez swam the third leg of the 200 Free Relay in 21.95 while Frymire touched the wall in 21.80 to give the Bulldogs a 1:29.80 to 1:29.97 victory over the Flyers. It was the best relay time turned in thus far by the Bulldogs in that event. Seth Holbrook and Alex Felton swam the first two legs of the relay.
The Bulldog's 200 Medley Relay team started the meet with a first place finish with Frymire swimming the final leg in 22.05.
Frymire turned in a season best time in the 100 Free with a time of 49.51 and a second place finish.
Other season best times were turned in by Matthew Fletcher in the 200 IM (1:59.66) and Eric Mikolajczyk in the 100 Fly (55.50).
The Bulldog women swept all three relay events contest in the first day. Tanya Sylvester swan in all three winning teams in the 200 Medley, 800 Free and 200 Free relay events.
Julia Jones took first in the 1650 Free with a time of 18:35.29 while Beth Eyanson won the 100 Fly (1:00.84), Stacey Wymer in the 100 Back (1:00.12) and Jessica Jenkot took the 100 Breast (1:08.03).
Both teams will be back in the pool at 10:00 a.m. against the Flyers for day two of the meet.
