Game Preview:
With three of their final four regular season games at home, the Truman women's basketball team will look to secure their postseason tournament bid and lock up some favorable position as they begin the home stand with Northwest Missouri on Wednesday night.

Truman (13-9; 7-9 MIAA) needs just one win to clinch their first winning season under coach Michael Smith and only third above .500 campaign in 11 years. They have already surpassed last season's win total and Saturday night Truman completed their first unblemished non-conference record of 6-0 in the program's history by defeating McKendree (Ill.) University 77-55.

Junior guard Becka McHenry has averaged 17.4 points per game in her last five and has scored 20-points or more in each of her last three games entering Wednesday night. In those last three, McHenry is shooting 58% from the floor, averaging over six rebounds and dishing out over four assists.

Northwest Missouri (5-19; 3-13 MIAA) are fighting for their postseason tournament lives after winning both the regular season and tournament titles a year ago. The Bearcats are a game back of eighth place in the standings after a key 72-71 victory over Missouri Western in overtime on Saturday.

Guards Abby Henry and Shelly Martin took nearly half of the field goal attempts against the Griffons with Henry scoring 16 and Martin 15 in the victory. The Bearcats made nine three-pointers out of 28 attempts, including all three in the extra five minutes after going 1-of-11 in the second half.

The win over the Griffons broke a seven-game losing streak that started with an overtime loss at Missouri Southern back on January 22nd. Two of their three wins, one against Truman and the other against the Griffons have been by just one point and their conference scoring margin is minus-12.5. Henry leads the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game and 13.6 in league tilts.

Truman led by 11 points with just under 15 minutes to play in Maryville back on January 7th but a trapping defense by the Bearcats forced a season-high 24 turnovers. Henry hit a jumper with four seconds left to give Northwest their only lead of the game in the 58-57 Bearcats win. Becka McHenry led Truman with 19 points while Ashleigh Nelson led Northwest with 11. Truman played without Jennifer Conway.

A win by the Bulldogs would lock up a tournament berth and Truman could finish no worse than seventh if Missouri Western falls on the road at Lincoln on Wednesday night.

About The Bulldogs:
Junior Becka McHenry leads Truman in scoring and is 9th in the conference at 14.5 points per game. McHenry is averaging 15.3 in 16 conference games while shooting 43% from the floor with 5.0 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. The Series:

The Bearcats led the overall series 52-13 and are 23-7 in games played in Kirksville. Northwest has won four straight and six of the last seven. Three of six wins have been by just one point.

The two schools are scheduled to meet just once next year in the last regular season game in Maryville.

In the eight conference losses, the average margin of defeat is just six points, with three one-point losses in the mix. The largest loss was by 21 at Emporia State while Truman dropped one-point games to Northwest, Missouri Western and Pittsburg State. Also in those defeats, Truman has been blocked 57 times (6.3/g) compared to 21 (3.4/g) times in the wins.

Daniels has scored 1,161 points to date, 12th all-time in Truman history. She will pass Sharon Witthoft (1977-81) for 11th with nine points.
