MIAA TV Network Game:
The Truman/Southwest Baptist doubleheader has been selected at the “MIAA Game of the Week” and will be available in central and western Missouri. The primary outlet will by KSMO (Ch. 62) in Kansas City with additional channels found on select cable systems such as Mediacom in Columbia and Jefferson City (Ch. 22), Cox Kansas Cable System, Cablevision (St. Joseph) and Suddenlink (St. Joseph and Maryville). Cableone in Kirksville, Joplin and Emporia is not a subscriber to the MIAA TV Network.
Game Preview:
The Truman women's basketball team could take a huge step in securing their spot in the MIAA postseason tournament as they will head to Bolivar, Mo. and face Southwest Baptist University on Saturday. The Bulldogs will be looking for the season sweep over the Bearcats, a team directly behind Truman in the standings albeit two games back.
Truman allowed #11 Washburn to control the first half on Wednesday night but fought back to get within seven late in the game in the 67-59 loss. The Lady Blues used runs of 11-0 and 9-0 to lead by as many as 18 in the first half but Truman outscored Washburn 32-24 in the final 20 minutes. Senior
Breanna Daniels scored a season-high 18 points on four made three-pointers.
Like the Bulldogs the week before, Southwest Baptist led for 35 minutes at #12 Pittsburg State on Wednesday night before falling 63-54. SBU led by as many as 14 points in the first half but made just eight field goals in the final 20 minutes while being outscored 37-20. LaKendra Smith paced the Bearcats with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Keys To The Game:
Truman turns the ball over 13.5 times per game and are coming off their fewest turnovers in a game with seven against Washburn on Wednesday night, meanwhile, Southwest Baptist is averaging nearly 18 turnovers a game. That played a role in Truman's 79-54 win in Kirksville back in December as the Bulldogs forced 22 Bearcat turnovers and had 23 more shot opportunities (65-42).
The Bulldogs are also a plus – 5.2 on the boards this season while SBU is a minus – 0.3.
In the first meeting, Truman outscored Southwest Baptist 46-18 in the paint.

For the Bearcats, Brittney Dukes scored a dozen and Kaitlan Cramer had 11 with seven coming from the line. SBU was without two of their top scorers in LaKendra Smith (12.4/g) and Jacqui Zelenka (10.3/g) in the December 7th contest.

The Bulldogs are averaging 69.5 points per game and 65.8 in conference games. They are shooting 40% from the field, 35% from beyond the arc and 74% from the foul line.
The Series:
Southwest Baptist leads the overall series 30-15 and has won 15 of 21 games played in Bolivar. Truman has won three straight games, their largest streak in the series.

In the last five games (2-3), Truman is holding opponents to just 23% from behind the line (14-of-60) while just turning the ball over just 12 times.
Jennifer Conway has averaged 14 points in those games shooting 45% from the field but the post player has only been to the line 10 times.

In the six Truman conference wins this season, the average margin of victory has been 15.6 points, the closest win was a two-point victory at Washburn and the largest win was a 25 point home win against Southwest Baptist.
In the eight conference losses, the average margin of defeat is just six points, with three one-point losses in the mix. The largest loss was by 21 at Emporia State while Truman dropped one-point games to Northwest, Missouri Western and Pittsburg State. Also in those defeats, Truman has been blocked 45 times (5.6/g) compared to 21 times in the wins.
Quick Look Around The MIAA:
The top three teams have all clinched spots in the MIAA postseason basketball tournament with Pittsburg State (13-1), Washburn (12-1) and Emporia State (10-4) leading the way. Central Missouri (9-5), Fort Hays St. (7-6), Truman (6-8) and Lincoln (6-7) are so far locked into the top eight spots that will travel to Kansas City with Southwest Baptist (4-10) and Missouri Western (4-10) battling for the eighth spot. Missouri Southern (2-12) and Northwest Missouri (2-11), will need to get hot late to make the dance.
Individually, Missouri Western's Jessica Koch is blistering the leader board in points per game at 23.1 with her nearest player, Central's Nicole Caddell (16.1) being seven points per game back. Lincoln's Vivian Essuon is the only player ranked in the top five in scoring (3rd/15.8ppg) and first in rebounding (1st/10.3rpg).

Breanna Daniels became the 16
th Truman women's basketball player to eclipse 1,000 points for a career and first since Georgia Mueller did so in 2009 earlier this season. Daniels has scored 1,136 points to date, 14th all-time in Truman history. She will pass Candace McGee with two points and Susan Theroff with 23 points.
Daniels has started 84 of 100 games played during her Bulldog career and is shooting nearly 40% from the field with 137 made three pointers. Her single-game high in points is 27 against Northwest Missouri on Feb. 17, 2010. She is averaging 11.5 points per game. Daniels had 65 double figure scoring nights with one double-double.
Daniels is third all-time in Truman history in made three-pointers (137), third in three-pointers attempted (394), eighth in free throw percentage (.791) and 10th in field goals (435), seventh in field goals attempted (1098) and sixth in games started (84).
Notable National Rankings:
In the latest set of national rankings released on Jan. 26th Truman had dropped from second to 19th in three-point field goal percentage (36.3%) while conference rival Washburn has jumped on top with a 39.7% shooting percentage from three.
Truman was 11th in Division II in turnovers per game (14.1). They were 19th in free throw shooting (75.6%).
Individually,
Allie Norton is 22nd in three-point field goal percentage (42.7%) while
Becka McHenry was 31st in the country in assists per game at 4.8 and was one of 12 players this year with a triple-double.

Becka McHenry recorded the first triple-double for the Bulldogs since December 1, 1998 when she scored 14 and had 10 assists and 10 rebounds. It was the 12th triple-double recorded in Division II this season and first in the MIAA since Missouri Western's Tiffany Davis recorded on in 2006 against Washburn (18p, 14,r, 11a).

Truman will take their longest trip of the season on a Wednesday night when they travel to Fort Hays State for a 5:30 p.m. start. The Bulldogs' three longest road trips this season in conference have all come on Wednesday nights. The Tigers defeated Truman 69-63 on Saturday, January 2nd in Pershing Arena.
