KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Bulldog women defended their home court picking up a big 70-55 victory over the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons on Thursday night in Pershing Arena. Allie Norton paced the 'Dogs with 16 points as Truman won their fourth straight and 22nd at home.

The two teams exchanged the lead four times over the first eight minutes but a 9-0 run over a five minute span gave Truman the separation they would not relinquish the rest of the game.

Courtney Strait gave Truman a 10-point lead late in the half and the Bulldogs finished the period scoring the final five points to go into the locker room up 36-24.

Truman kept the Tritons at bay for most of the second period, maintaining a double-figure lead most of the way. Missouri-St. Louis could only get as close as eight as Truman's free throw shooting proved huge again.

The Bulldogs dominated at the line making 27 of 32 attempts for an 84% clip. Truman had just one more field goal than the Tritons but outscored UMSL by 11 at the line.

Norton was 6-of-9 from the field and led four Bulldogs in double figures. She was 4-of-5 from outside for 16 points and was joined by Nicole Gloor's 15, Strait's 13 and Bianca Szafarowicz's 10. Gloor and Szafarowicz took the bulk of the free throws with Gloor going 7-of-9 and Szafarowicz making 8-of-10.

The Tritons were led by Kelly McGovern's 16 points off the bench. However UMSL shot just 33% from the floor, 17% from outside and 69% at the line.

Truman will head to Maryville (Mo.) on Saturday afternoon to face the Saints at 1:00 p.m.  Maryville led the Quincy Lady Hawks by seven with five minutes left to play but Quincy got the game winning bucket with six seconds left to win 73-71 on Thursday night.
