Women's Soccer Recap: Truman 0, Lewis 0

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Ninety minutes of regulation and two overtime periods weren't enough to decide a winner on Sunday afternoon, as the Truman women's soccer team battled host Lewis to a scoreless draw in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

The Bulldogs (10-3-2, 8-2-2 GLVC) and Flyers (3-6-5, 3-5-4 GLVC) combined for just four shots on goal in the 110 total minutes, with Truman keeper Katie Mattingly making three saves in her fourth solo shutout in six starts this season. Alexis Heffernan took two shots for Truman, with Jessica Hanson's 92nd minute try coming as the Bulldogs' registered shot on goal.

Lewis had a golden chance to win it with just three seconds left on the second half clock, but a header by Leah Manning hit the crossbar to send the teams to overtime.

Truman took 10 corner kicks on the day to Lewis' seven, with the Flyers committing 15 fouls to just six for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs return home this coming Friday (Oct. 24) for a 12 p.m. kickoff against Missouri-St. Louis at the Bulldog Soccer Park.
