EVANSVILLE, Ind. - - The No. 23 Truman volleyball team got a dozen kills from both senior Allie Brak and junior Abby Heise, as the purple and white hit .258 overall in a three-set road sweep (-14, -18, -18) at Southern Indiana on Sunday afternoon.

The win streak reached 19 for the Bulldogs, as Truman improved to 21-2 overall (13-0 GLVC) on the season and kept a two-match lead in the GLVC standings with five regular season matches to play. Southern Indiana, meanwhile, fell to 16-8 overall (6-7 GLVC) with its second home loss of the weekend.

Truman rode a huge run in each set to put away the Screaming Eagles, as the Bulldogs led 16-12 in the opening frame before rattling off a 9-2 burst to win 25-14. Then, in the second set, Truman scored eight of the first ten points of the set to put USI in an early 8-2 hole en route to a 25-18 win. Finally, the Bulldogs scored nine straight to turn an 8-6 deficit into a 15-8 lead in a 25-18 third set victory.

"We played a complete match today," head coach Ben Briney said. "Meghan (Zimmerman) did a great job of moving the ball around and all of our hitters took advantage. We served aggressively and were able to take them out of what they were trying to do offensively a good bit of the match."

Heise led all players with 13.5 points, as her 12 kills came paired with a .364 attack line, an ace, and a block assist, while Brak added 12.5 points with 12 kills, 11 digs, and a block assist. Sophomore Kayla Bastian was the third 'Dog in double-figures with 11.5 points, as she put down 10 kills on a .300 attack percentage with nine digs, an ace, and a block assist.

Senior Meghan Zimmerman posted a 32-assist, 17-dig double-double, while senior libero Abby Moser matched her 17 digs to share the team high. Truman totaled 14 more kills, two more digs, and two more blocks, all while forcing 20 total USI attack errors.

The Bulldogs will play their final regular season road contest this coming Tuesday (Oct. 28) night, visiting Quincy at 7 p.m. Truman defeated QU 3-0 earlier this season in Pershing Arena behind a combined 23 kills from Brak and Bastian.
