Women's Soccer Recap: Truman 0, Rockhurst 0

KANSAS CITY - - Meeting for the first time since last season's NCAA-II opening round contest, the Truman and Rockhurst women's soccer teams played to a scoreless draw on the turf at RU's Bourke Field.
 
The Bulldogs (8-2-1, 6-1-1 GLVC) and Hawks (8-1-2, 5-1-2 GLVC) went toe-to-toe in Truman's first draw of the season, as Rockhurst out-shot the Bulldogs by a 20-9 margin. However, the Hawks and Bulldogs were much closer in shots on goal, with the hosts owning only a 4-3 edge.
 
Junior Alexis Heffernan led all Bulldogs with three shots (two on goal), while redshirt freshman Allie McDonell took two shots off the bench. Freshman Katie Mattingly earned her second shutout of the weekend, posting four saves in 110 minutes of work.
 
Truman returns to Kirksville next weekend for two matches on Homecoming weekend, beginning on Friday at 12 p.m. against Saint Joseph's.
