KIRKSVILLE - - Senior Allie Brak and junior Abby Heise each put away eight kills, and the No. 24 Truman volleyball team tallied eight blocks in a three set sweep of Maryville (Mo.) on Friday night in Pershing Arena.

Heise (eight kills, two block assists) and Brak (eight kills, two block assists) each finished the match with nine points, while junior Ali Patterson added six kills, two block assists and a solo block for eight points and a .385 hitting line. The Bulldogs (24-3, 16-1 GLVC) hit .222 on the night as a team, while the defense stifled Maryville (15-13, 6-11 GLVC) all night – holding the visiting Saints to just an .048 attack percentage that included a third-set high of .089.

Sophomore Kayla Bastian added five kills in just one set of work, and freshman Jasmine Brown collected four kills off the bench. Senior Meghan Zimmerman finished with 29 assists, 12 digs, three kills and three aces, with fellow senior Abby Moser leading all 'Dogs with 13 digs.

Maryville got nine kills from Ashley Selman, while Ali Lampen dug 23 Bulldog attempts on the MU back line.

With the victory, the Bulldogs clinched at least a share of the Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division title and have earned the outright No. 1 seed in next week's GLVC championship tournament, to be held in East Peoria, Ill.

Truman returns to action on Saturday afternoon, closing out the regular season at 6 p.m. against Missouri-St. Louis (16-10, 10-6 GLVC). Prior to the match, the Bulldogs will recognize its three-member senior class – Moser, Brak, and Zimmerman – for their contributions to the Truman program throughout the last four seasons.
