KIRKSVILLE, Mo.  – Senior Allie Norton led the Truman Women's Basketball team with a career-high 29 points in an 86-74 victory over a pesky Culver-Stockton (Mo.) Wildcats on Saturday night in Pershing Arena.
 
The Bulldogs hit four straight three-pointers after the Wildcats had closed to within four at 20-16. Those triples sparked a 22-4 run that saw Truman's lead balloon to 39-18 with four minutes left in the first half.
 
Truman took a 17-point lead into the locker room, but Culver-Stockton scored 14 of the first 19 points to start the second to close the gap to a dozen. The lead was then sliced in half again on an 11-2 run by Culver-Stockton.
 
Norton made her first of three second half triples during an 11-3 spurt that restored a bit of order and pushed the Bulldog lead back out to 15 points. Her final three put her into a tie for second with Candace McGee on the career three-point charts with 230 made. She added seven assists and made all six of her free throw attempts to set her new career-high. Her previous high mark was 26 against Drury (Mo.) last season.
 
The Bulldogs made 14 threes on the night and the proved to be the big difference on the scoreboard with the Wildcats. Culver-Stockton made just four but outrebounded the Bulldogs 41-32 including 20 offensive boards and outscored Truman 46-16 in the paint. The Wildcats scored 50 points in the second half.
 
Courtney Strait added 13 points and Sam Andrews scored a season-high 12 off the bench for Truman, who enters the holiday break on a four-game winning streak.
 
The Wildcats put five players in double-figures with T.J. Hart leading the way 16 points.  Larra Kubinski notched a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds in 20 minutes.
 
Truman will play exclusively in the Great Lakes Valley Conference from here on out starting with Wisconsin-Parkside on January 2 at home at 5:30 p.m.
