KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The #7 Drury Lady Panthers raced out to an early lead, withstood a furious Truman comeback attempt and then held on for a 93-86 victory over the Bulldogs, ending their eight-game overall and 23-game home court winning streak.

Truman struggled early from the field making their first field goal attempt seven minutes into the game while the Lady Panthers built up a 13-point advantage.

The Bulldogs motored back and swung the momentum during a wild exchange. Courtney Strait provided instant offense with four straight and the Bulldogs would score 12 of the next 13 points. Nicole Gloor added the exclamation point with a three-pointer to tie the game at 31 apiece.

Bethanie Funderburk was the answer for the Lady Panthers as she drilled two of the team's four-straight three-pointers over the final 1:54 of the half to send Drury into the locker room up 43-37.

The six-foot-seven Amber Dvorak was the key out of the break for the Lady Panthers as she tallied 11 of her game-high 27 points over a five minute span that extended the lead out to as many as 16 points.

Gloor scored five straight for the Bulldogs and Bianca Szafarowicz cut the deficit to 10 at 61-51 before Funderburk struck and started an 8-0 run to give Drury their largest lead of 18 points with eight minutes left to play.

Norton would not let Drury run away as she scored 10 of her career-high 26 points during a three-minute span that saw the Bulldogs clip off 13 of the 18 point margin to trail 74-69 with 4:50 left.

Truman would get it back to five once more following Norton's sixth triple of the day but the Lady Panthers got the stops when needed to hold on for the win.

Norton was 9-of-16 from the field with six treys and 26 points in 35 minutes while Gloor added 15 and Amy Briggs and Szafarowicz each added 11.

Funderburk added 10 rebounds to her 22 points and six assists while Dvorak averaged a point a minute with 27 to go along with six boards and three blocks.

Truman falls for the first time since January 3 and first time at home since February 1, 2012.

The Bulldogs will look to begin a new streak as they welcome a pair of founding members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference next weekend when they host the University of Southern Indiana on Thursday and Bellarmine (Ky.) next Saturday.
