KIRKSVILLE, Mo.. - - The Truman men's basketball team shot nearly 68% in the first half to run out to a 25-point halftime lead, then continued to push in the second half all the way to a 112-75 rout of Saint Joseph's (Ind.) on Thursday night in Pershing Arena.

After an SJC lay-up pulled the Pumas within one at 10-9 with 13:51 to play in the first half, the Bulldogs hit three straight three-pointers – two by Cole Myers and one for Andrew Vander Zwaag – to push the gap to 10 at the 12:43 mark. The lead would drop to seven at 25-18, before another Vander Zwaag triple and a Cory Myers lay-up pushed the margin to a dozen.

From there, the Bulldogs would take a 59-34 lead into the break, hit the century mark on an Isaac Gardner three-ball with 6:26 to play, and lead by as many as 41 just moments later en route to the 112-75 victory.

The 112 points tied for the 10th-most in school history and tied for the third-most against another NCAA Div. II program, while the team's 29 assists tied for fourth-most in school history (most against a Div. II program). Truman shot 43-for-70 (61.4%) from the field, including 14-of-28 (50.0%) from long range. The Bulldogs out-rebounded SJC 36-28 and held the conference's No. 3 three-point shooting team to just 2-of-15 from long-distance.

Seth Jackson led five Bulldogs in double-figures with 21 points in just 20 minutes, while Gardner (17) and Vander Zwaag (17) combined to bury eight three-pointers off the bench. Cole Myers added 11 points and six assists – also off the bench – while Cory Myers finished with 12 points, seven assists, and six rebounds.

The five Bulldog starters only averaged 19 minutes per game against the Pumas, who were led by 21 points from Cameron Vines.

Truman faces a tough task on Saturday afternoon in Pershing, as seventh-ranked Indianapolis visits Kirksville for a 3 p.m. start. The Greyhounds are now 20-2 (12-2 GLVC East) on the season after winning at Quincy on Thursday night.
