KIRKSVILLE, Mo.   – The University of Indianapolis eliminated the Truman Bulldogs from the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament 72-51 in the opening round on Sunday. The Bulldogs season comes to an end at 16-11.
 
The Greyhounds went on top 7-2 early on but the Bulldogs fired back with seven straight points to take a 9-7 lead. Princess German knocked down a triple to reclaim the lead for the Greyhounds at 10-9.
 
Sarah Costello knocked down a pair of jumpers following an Allie Norton free throw to give the Greyhounds a 14-10 lead. Kasey Gassensmith scored at the 6:02 mark to make it 14-12 before things went south for the Bulldogs.
 
Truman proceeded to turn the ball over five straight possessions and went zero for their last five from the field to finish the half. The Greyhounds took advantage scoring 19 points and went into the locker room up 32-12. The Bulldogs shot 20% (5-of-25) in the first half and had 10 turnovers.
 
Indianapolis maintained the 20-point lead for most of the second half. The Bulldogs scored six straight to get within 18 at 10:23 but the Greyhounds fired back with eight in-a-row to squelch the comeback.
 
Germain led Indianapolis with 24 points and Costello and Kelly Walter added 18 apiece.  The Greyhounds shot 51% for the game, 46% (7-of-15) from three and 21 of their 36 free throw attempts.
 
Norton was the only Bulldog in double-figures with 11 points. Courtney Strait had eight with 10 rebounds before fouling out with 6:39 left. The Bulldogs finished at 26% from the field and 6-of-23 from outside.
 
Truman's season ends with a final record of 16-10 while Indianapolis moves on as the 11th seed to the to the quarterfinals in St. Charles, Missouri.
