ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Truman men's soccer team was able to tie the match up at 1-1 with Lewis thanks to
Joel Reft's second goal in as many games in the 56th minute, but the Flyers scored in both the 65th and 85th minutes to seal a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs.
With the loss, Truman drops to 5-6-3 overall and 3-6-2 in the GLVC while Lewis improves to 4-10 on the season and 3-9 in conference action. As mentioned above, Reft found the back of the net for the second match in a row and he was assisted by
Brian Kane's second helper of the year.
For the teams' head-to-head comparison, the Flyers led in both shots (12-10) and corner kicks (4-1), but the Bulldogs were ahead in shots on goal (6-4). Specifically, Reft and
Trevor Kaufmann each had three shots for six of the team's 10. In goal,
Zac Suazo made one save on 12 shots faced.
Next up is Truman's Senior Day on Friday against Missouri-St. Louis with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. during Homecoming Weekend 2016.
