ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The #19 Truman Women's Soccer team secured their first round home game in the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament with a 3-0 victory over Maryville (Mo.) University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs will be looking for the overall number one seed on Wednesday when they travel to Quincy for the regular season finale.

Stephanie Williams scored her third goal of the season in the 32nd minute off a cross from the left side by Kelsey Murphy to put Truman up 1-0. Less than 10 minutes later, Erica Atnip scored her first goal on a breakaway after a miscue by the Saints defense.

Atnip would register her second goal of the game in the 77th minute with a double assist given to Allison Lockett and Delaney Kooken.

Katie Mattingly stopped all four shots faced to pick up her 11.5 shutout of the season.

Truman and Rockhurst are level atop the conference standings with identical 11-1-2 records. Truman holds the tie break with their 1-0 win over the Hawks in Kansas City earlier in October. The Bulldogs will travel to Quincy on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. for the regular season finale while the Hawks travel to William Jewell.

Quincy will be fighting for their season as they are locked in a five-way battle spots seven through 11 in the conference standings. The top eight earn a shot in the league postseason tournament that begins next Sunday on campus sites. The Hawk are 6-7-1 in the GLVC and have lost their last three matches.
