KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The #10 Truman Women's Soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 3-0 victory over the University of Indianapolis on Sunday at the Truman Soccer Park. The GLVC leading Bulldogs are now 11-0-1 overall and 10-0 in the conference.

The scoring began in the 11th minute when defender Laura Ney moved up for a Bulldog corner kick and ended up heading in the cross from Megan Whitehead for her second goal of the year.

Just seven minutes later, a UIndy defender took down a Bulldog in the 18-yard box and Truman was awarded a penalty. Kelsey Murphy converted for her fourth goal of the season and a 2-0 Bulldog lead.

Whitehead capped off her senior day by taking a pass from the left from Murphy and beating keeper Emma Crenshaw for her second goal of the season.

Katie Mattingly played the first 75 minutes before giving way to senior Nicole Sparks to combine on the shutout. Mattingly made four saves during her time in goal.

The Bulldogs were able to filter in 23 players during the match and all eight seniors got minutes. The seniors honored prior to the game were Nicole Sparks, Casey Maloney, Megan Casserly, Stephanie Williams, Megan Whitehead, Allie Gentry, Allie Mcdonell and Danielle Beers.

Truman will embark on their longest road trip of the season when they head north to face the University of Wisconsin Parkside on Friday and Lewis University in Chicago on Sunday.
