RECAP: Women Cruise To Non-Conference Victory In Home Debut

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Women's Basketball team stuffed the stat sheet with an 81-24 victory in the home opener against Central Christian College of the Bible on Wednesday night. All 12 players scored points for the Bulldogs led by Rachel Edmundson's 12 points.
 
The Bulldogs (2-1) scored the first 16 points of the game and held the Saints (0-3) to four points in the first quarter. The 21 points allowed was the fewest since a 2008 game against Central Christian in which the Saints managed 20 points.
 
Edmundson was 6-of-11 from the field in 17 minutes and pulled down six rebounds. She was joined in double figures by Eleanor Lueke with 11 and Sam Andrews with 10. Cassidy Clark pulled down 11 rebounds for the second straight game and added nine points in 18 minutes.
 
Truman shot 43% for the game and made all seven of their free throw attempts. The Bulldogs also had a decided advantage on the boards by a 55 to 33 margin.
 
The Saints got nine points from Kylie Hayes and played just seven players. CCCB shot 17% for the game making nine of 52 field goal attempts and had 22 turnovers.
 
The Bulldogs will get back to Division II play with a non-conference home game against Upper Iowa University at 1 p.m. Saturday in Pershing Arena.
