NCAA Division II Standards
EVANSTON, Ill. - The Truman men's swimming team finished in sixth place out of seven teams with 274.5 points at the conclusion of Northwestern's TYR Cup that lasted from Friday through Sunday. The Bulldogs were able to turn in several NCAA B-cut times, personal bests and even some new school records.

Final Results
For the third and final day of competition, the men took home four top-10 finishes and Heveroh was involved in all of them. The Bulldogs placed seventh in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:04.82 (Heveroh, Girmus, Gieseke, and
Justin King) and 10th in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:57.57 (Girmus, Thayer, Shanel, and Heveroh).
For the two individual performances in the top 10, they belonged to Heveroh in the 100 free (fourth - 44.93) and Heveroh again in the 100 IM (fifth - 52.07). That 100 free time for Heveroh is also a new school record, which broke the old mark of 45.41 set in 2009.
Next up, Truman hosts Western Illinois on Saturday, Dec. 3 beginning at 1 p.m. in Pershing Natatorium.

The second day of action was an even better one for the men that was capped by TWO record-breaking performances. In the 200 medley relay, Brown, Girmus,
Caleb Kruse, and Heveroh broke an 11-year old school record by over a second with a time of 1:31.18 (fifth place). The other record came in the 200 free when Heveroh broke his own mark and finished in third at 1:38.53.
Those were two of the four swims in which Truman was able to finish amongst the 10-best times. The other two came for Shanel in the 400 IM with a time of 3:57.94 (fourth place) and Girmus in the 100 breast with a time of 56.82 (ninth place).

Truman was able to secure a top-10 finish in five events. Two of those were relays including the 200 free in which the Bulldogs were seventh with a time of 1:23.84 (
Sam Heveroh,
Lliot Gieseke,
Ben Sherman, and
Neil Girmus) and ninth in the 400 medley with a time of 3:24.31 (
Riley Brown, Girmus,
Will Shanel, and Heveroh).
The other three finishes that were good enough to rank in the top 10 were Girmus in the 50 breast (seventh - 26.12), Thayer in the 500 free (ninth - 4:33.23) and Heveroh in the 50 breast (10th - 26.07).
