SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A huge third quarter by #2 Emporia State led the Lady Hornets to an 89-68 victory over the Truman Bulldogs on Friday night at the Drury Thanksgiving Tournament. The Bulldogs will play Oklahoma Panhandle State at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday night.
 
Truman led by 3 after one 21-18 and had a four-point lead following a Brooke Bailey three-pointer with 3:36 left in the half. Emporia scored the final five of the half to head into the locker room up 38-36
 
The difference was in the second half. Emporia made 10 of their first 12 shots in the third quarter and put 37 points on the scoreboard to take command of the game. The Lady Hornets shot 21-of-39 (53.8%) to Truman's 30.4% (7-of-23). Emporia outscored Truman 24-10 in points off of turnovers and 23-5 in second chance points.
 
Cassidy Clark had a career-high for the Bulldogs. Clark scored 29 points on 12-of-19 shooting and was joined in double-figures by Rachel Edmundson 11 points. Clark's previous high was 17 points and it was the second straight game that Truman had a player eclipse 20 points (Edmundson 27 against Missouri Southern on Tuesday).
 
The Bulldogs will look to rebound against the Aggies of OPSU. They were defeated by the host school Drury 92-54.
