RECAP: 'Dogs Never Trail In Rout Over OPSU In Drury Tourney Finale

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Truman Women's Basketball team led from start to finish and nearly doubled up Oklahoma Panhandle State 94-49 to earn a split at the Drury University Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday night.
 
Hot shooting by a trio of Bulldogs and a dominating performance inside the paint led Truman to the win. Ashley Hartwig set a new career-high with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting, Cassidy Clark also scored 18 points on 7-of-9 from the field and Rachel Edmundson added 13 points on 5-of-7, with two threes. Truman outscored the Aggies 48-12 in the paint and 23-6 in points off of turnovers.
 
Montira Mosby had her first career double-figure game with 11 points and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field with a triple.
 
The Bulldogs scored seven straight when the score was 5-4 early on and led 23-10 after one. Truman blistered the nets in the second half shooting nearly 60% from the field. For the game, the Bulldogs shot 48% overall, were 23-of-27 from the foul line and won the glass 45-29.
 
Clark was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 23.5 points and shooting 67% (19-of-28) from the field.
 
The win broke a mini two-game losing streak and pushed Truman to above the .500 mark with the team starting Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Thursday in Kansas City against Rockhurst. Tip time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
