EVANSVILLE, Ind.  – Truman scored seven runs in their final two at bats to overtake Saint Joseph's (Ind.) and down the Pumas 11-9 in Saturday's game of the Southern Indiana/Dunn Hospitality Classic. The Bulldogs have a rematch with the Screaming Eagles on Sunday at 4 p.m.
 
The Bulldogs trailed all afternoon after falling behind 4-0 after one and 9-4 after six. The rally started in the seventh when Mason King singled and advanced on an error with one-out. He would score on a hit by Nick Agliolo. Dave Gambino followed with an RBI double. Jason Priest, Brendan Trimble and Chris Iliopoulos all followed with singles with the last two plating two more runs to close the gap to 9-8.
 
Joey Gardner led off the eighth with one of his three hits on the afternoon. T.J. Wood reached on an error while trying to sacrifice Gardner into scoring position. The lineup rolled over to the top and King delievered a two-run double down the left field line to put Truman on top.
 
Agliolo would score an insurance run on a single by Trimble.
 
Alex Hoffmann, who came into the game in the eighth inning, allowed a one-out single in the ninth but then got the twin killing to end the game. Hoffman followed starter Kent Frantz and Adrian Morris to the mound for the Bulldogs. Frantz lasted three innings allowing eight hits and striking out five.
 
The Pumas scored four unearned runs after Frantz had fanned the first two hitters of the game.
 
Trimble and Iliopoulos each drove in three while Trimble joined Gardner with three hits apiece. The first six batters of Truman's lineup went 13-of-28 (.464) and accounted for eight of the 11 runs scored.
 
It was the third straight game that Truman has fallen behind by five runs or more and rallied to either tie and send the game into extra innings or win outright.
