KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – With only four road games left in the regular season, the Truman Women's Basketball team will cut that in half with a trip to St. Louis for a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference games. The Bulldogs will open the trip at Maryville University on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.

Following this trip, seven of the final nine games will be played in the friendly confines of Pershing Arena but standing in the way will be the Saints on Thursday followed by the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints had lost seven of their previous seven games but stunned #19 Lewis University on their home court 77-72 on Saturday and rolled that momentum over to a 62-50 win over crosstown rival Missouri-St. Louis on Monday night.

Truman had their three-game winning streak derailed at home last week with losses to the top two teams in the GLVC East Division. The Bulldogs battled Southern Indiana to 10 ties and 10 lead changes but could not overcome the Screaming Eagles down the stretch in a 72-67 defeat. On Saturday, Truman squared off against #4 Bellarmine and for the first time all season, never took a lead during the game as the Knights methodically pulled away for an 89-77 win.

The Bulldogs played their first five GLVC games on the road before last week's homestand against USI and Bellarmine. Truman is 3-4 in the GLVC and are a half game behind William Jewell for third place in the West Division. Drury leads the division with a 7-0 record followed by Rockhurst at 5-2. Missouri-St. Louis (2-4) and Maryville (2-5) trail the Bulldogs and Missouri S&T (1-6) and Quincy (1-6) are bringing up the rear.
