KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Women will be looking to get back on track when they host Missouri S&T in a key GLVC West Division matchup on Saturday afternoon in Pershing Arena.

The Bulldogs have dropped two straight and their first three GLVC home games after putting up a vailent fight against #12 Drury on Thursday night. Truman fell behind by 16 points in the second quarter but clawed back with a gutsy third quarter to take the lead against the Lady Panthers. Truman led five times in the third and fourth quarters but the Drury pressure defense forced six turnovers in the final four-plus minutes to pull away for the 64-57 win.

Over at Quincy on Thursday, the Miners used a 9-0 run early in the game and led wire-to-wire in a 72-59 over the Lady Hawks. Maddie Raley came off the bench and made all four of her three-pointer attempts to lead S&T in scoring with 16 points in 18 minutes. Elsie Greenwood and Janie Arand had 13 points apiece.

Truman has won the last three GLVC meetings with the Miners, including last season's 51-42 victory in Rolla. The last Miner win over a Truman team came in 2006 when the teams played a non-conference game that needed overtime before S&T won 57-55.

Five of the eight teams in the GLVC West Division are bunched up and separated by only a game in the standings. Drury had a commanding lead in the division at 10-0 followed by Rockhurst at 7-3. Truman, Missouri-St. Louis and Maryville sit at 4-6 with William Jewell (3-6) and Missouri S&T (3-7) right behind.

Truman is averaging 70.4 points per game while giving up 65.2 points. The Bulldogs are shooting 40% overall, 32% from long range and 71% from the line. In conference games, Truman scores 66.9 points per game and has allowed 66.3. Shooting wise in league, the Bulldogs hit 40% of their shots, 30% from range and 69.3% at the line.

The Starting Five:
The Bulldogs have used the same starting five for all 10 conference games and 18 of the 19 games this season. Senior Cassidy Clark, junior Ashley Hartwig, sophomores Rachel Edmundson and Brooke Bailey and freshman Sloane Totta.

Clark is Truman's leading scorer at 15.1 points per game, she is fourth in GLVC game scoring at 16.6 points. She is only the second Bulldog in the past eight seasons that has a scoring average above 15 points per night (Allie Norton – 2014-15). Clark has scored in double-figures in 13 of the last 14 games this season.  She notched her second double-double of the year on Thursday night against Drury with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Clark is in the top 10 in conference overall stats in six stat categories including Rebounding (7th), Field Goal Percentage (8th), Blocks (9th), Offensive Rebounds (7th) and Defensive Rebounds (5th). She has Truman's single game high with 29 points against Emporia State on November 25.

Hartwig is the active leader in games played (75) and starts (60). She has scored in double-figures in three of her last five outings, but was held to two points on free throws against Drury on Thursday. Hartwig is sixth overall in conference free throw shooting at 84% and is averaging 10.2 points overall and 11.4 points in GLVC games this season.

???????Edmundson is second on the team in scoring at 11.4 points a night. She has scored at least 20 points in two games this season including a career-high 27 at Missouri Southern in November. Since January 1st, Edmundson has scored in double-figures in four of the past seven games.

Bailey scored in double-figures for the second straight game with 14 points against the Lady Panthers on Thursday and is averaging 9.8 points per game. She leads the team in three-pointers made with 35 and is shooting 36% from beyond the arc. Of her 47 assists, 30 have come since the December 31st game against Iowa Wesleyan and had back-to-back games against Illinois Springfield and McKendree with six dimes apiece. Bailey is seventh in GLVC games at 3.2 assists per game and fifth in conference assist/turnover ratio at 1.38.

???????Totta has scored in double-figures in three of her last five outings and had a Truman single-game high nine assist last Thursday in the Bulldogs victory over Maryville University. She is also ranked in conference only stats in assists (tied for 10th at 3.0) and seventh in assist/turnover ratio at 1.29.

Off The Bench:
Freshman Eleanor Lueke has the highest minutes average of any bench player this season and is the only other player outside of the starting five that has appeared in all 19 games. She made one start, against Iowa Wesleyan on December 31 and is averaging 5.3 points per game with a season high of 11 against two opponents.

Junior transfer Jamie Gleeson has been involved in 18 games and is averaging 9.8 minutes and 3.2 points per game. She scored a season-high seven points against Bellarmine on January 14 and had two blocks against Illinois Springfield on January 5.

Series History:
Of all the teams in the GLVC, Truman has the most history with Missouri S&T. This will be the 56th game between the two schools with Truman leading 31-24.

The two teams first met in 1977 and played a handful of times in the old Missouri Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (MAIAW) state tournaments. Starting in the 1982-83 season, they played at least once for the next 24 years as conference members of the Missouri (now Mid-America) Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

S&T departed the MIAA in 2005-06 and the teams played two non-conference games in the following two years. The series resumed in 2014 when Truman joined S&T in the GLVC.

The Bulldogs have won all three conference meetings, 80-52 in the Lady Miners last visit to Pershing Arena in 2014, 70-51 in 2015 and 51-42 last year, both in Rolla.

Last season, the Lady Miners struck first and led 12-4 before Truman tied the game just before half at 19 apiece. The Bulldogs outscored S&T 17-4 in the third quarter to jump on top 36-23.

The Lady Miners got as close as six in the fourth but free throw shooting, especially by senior Michalina Tomczak kept Truman in front. Tomczak scored all of her points from the line going 11-of-12. Rachel Steinhoff led Truman with 14 points while the Lady Miners got 14 from Bria Pierce.
