OZARK, Mo. – Charlie Kreh and Dave Gambino drove in three runs apiece and Brendan Trimble broke a 1-1 tie in the opener as Truman split day two with Drury University on Sunday afternoon.

Trimble's two-out double off of closer Alex Austin in the top of the seventh broke the tie and Kreh followed with an RBI single as Truman won game one 3-1. The Panthers scored four times in the seventh and once more in the eighth to take the nightcap and the series finale 10-7.
Kreh was 4-for-8 on the afternoon.

The Bulldogs return home for an eight-game homestand starting on Saturday with Maryville University at noon.

Game 1 Recap:
Alex Hoffmann improved to 2-2 on the season and Peter Young notched his third save of the year in the 3-1 win.
Truman grabbed the early lead when Trimble singled and Kreh followed with a double to left center for the 1-0 lead. Jason Priest got a
two-out single but both runners were stranded.

Hoffmann worked around base runners in the first three innings before the danger caught up to him in the fourth. A leadoff single, sac bunt and a balk but KK Daniel at third with one out and he scored on a single by Dylan Bradshaw to tie things up.

The Panthers loaded the bases in the fifth but Hoffmann got Daniels to roll into the 6-4-3 double play to end the threat.

The first two Bulldogs were retired in the seventh but Nick Agliolo drew a walk and swiped second. Trimble then stroked a double to right center to give the Bulldogs the lead. Kreh followed to right for an RBI insurance run.

Closer Young was summoned and issued a walk to leadoff hitter Caleb Essick but got three straight popups to end the game.

Game 2 Recap:

Truman again jumped on top early aided by some wildness from Drury starter Trey Faulconer. The Panther pitcher hit the first three hitters of the game and walked Chris Iliopoulos for the first run of the game. Faulconer was removed and Christian Vonderheide got out of the jam by allowing just a sac fly from Dave Gambino as the only other run in the inning.

Drury took a 3-2 lead and chased starter Brad Molski in the process during the fourth inning. A double by Shane Benes scored Ryan Colombo and following a pitching change, Ryan Kayhill drew a bases loaded walk to tie the game. Riley Herron put the Panther up with an infield single.

The Bulldogs came right back. The first three reached to force Drury back to the bullpen and Kreh greeted Avery Jennings with an RBI single to right to score Mason King. Jason Priest cleared the bases with a double to right center to put Truman back on top 6-3.

Nic Perkins trimmed the lead to 6-5 in Drury's half of the fifth with a two-run single to right field.

Drury retook the lead in the seventh when they scored four times. A leadoff single and sac bunt set up an RBI single by pinch hitter Justin Abernathy. He would score the go-ahead run on a wild pitch. Later, a throwing error allowed two more runs to score.

Both teams added runs in the eight with King grounding out to score Evan Kayser and Columbo singling in pinch runner Patrick Hoerning.

The Bulldogs made things interesting in the ninth. Chris Iliopoulos and Jason Priest both singled with two outs to bring up Dave Gambino as the tying run. Gambino lined out to left to end the game.

Kent Frantz was tagged with the loss and Alex Stilwell was credited with the victory.
