RECAP: Bulldogs Score Early And Cruise To 2-0 Win Over UINDY

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Goals from Maggie Beem and Hanna Hickey in the first 45 minutes lifted the Truman Women's Soccer team to their 10th win of the season as they downed the University of Indianapolis 2-0 on Friday afternoon.
 
It's the 24th time out of 34 years and 22 out of the past 23 years that the Bulldogs have hit double-digit wins in a season.
 
Just nine minutes into the match, Addy Hoffman fed a ball through a pair of UINDY defenders. Beem took the pass in stride and beat keeper Laura Shake on her left side for the 1-0 lead. It was Beem's second goal of the year.
 
Just before half, Chloe Hollander cross the ball from the left and Hanna Hickey headed it home standing on the doorstep for her second tally of the season.
 
Beth Hopwood had to make two saves late and three total in the game as the Truman defense was in charge most of the game. The Bulldogs outshot the Greyhounds 14-3 for the match and UINDY had no chances from within the 18-yard box.
 
Truman improves to 10-3 overall and 6-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Greyhounds fall to 6-6-2 and 3-4-2 in the GLVC. Truman will host Bellarmine on Sunday at noon in the regular season home finale.
