SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Truman State University men's soccer team was on the road Sunday to take on one of the top teams in the GLVC in the form of Illinois Springfield. The Bulldogs' first goal made the score 1-1, but the Prairie Stars rattled off four-straight scores before the Purple and White got one late to make it a 5-2 defeat.
With the loss, Truman dropped to 3-8-4 overall and 1-8-3 in the GLVC while Illinois Springfield improved to 9-4-3 on the season including 8-2-2 in league play.
After UIS' goal in the 12th minute, freshman,
Collin McDonough (pictured), found the back of the net for the third time this season just over eight minutes later.
The Prairie Stars then went on a tear with goals in the 46th, 49th, 79th, and 81st minutes. The Bulldogs' second score came from
Michael Ruzicka in the 89th minute, his first of the season and third of his career.
Truman will finish up the season at William Jewell on Wednesday with first kick set for 7:30 p.m.
