RECAP: Bulldogs Cruise Past Palm Beach Atlantic 80-62 In "Cruzin Classic"

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Truman Women's Basketball team had four players in double-figures, outrebounded Palm Beach Atlantic by 17 and led by double-figures for three quarters in an 80-62 win in the "Cruzin Classic" opener on Monday afternoon.
 
Rachel Edmundson led the Truman (10-1) contingent with 17 points on four made three-pointers and Maddie Re recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Sloane Totta added 16 and Brooke Bailey scored 11.
 
The Sailfish had an early one-point lead at 14-13 but Truman flew past with a 25-5 run and never looked back. Palm Beach Atlantic (1-6) cut a 19-point deficit down to 10 with eight seconds left in the first half but Bailey converted on all three free throw attempts with two seconds showing to send the Bulldogs into the locker room up 44-31.
 
The onslaught continued with the lead soaring to as many as 27 points in the fourth quarter.
 
Truman made 28-of-35 attempts from the free throw line and outscored the Sailfish by 20 at the stripe. The Bulldogs also had the distinct rebound advantage with a 48-31 final total.
 
The Bulldogs will wrap up 2018 in Florida on Tuesday with a game against Barry University at 5:30 p.m. (ET).
