RECAP: #9 Drury Sweeps Regular Season Over Truman With Win Thursday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Ninth-ranked Drury outscored Truman 22-4 in the first quarter and went on to hand the Bulldogs a 72-46 defeat on Thursday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

Truman had turnovers in their first two possessions and Drury went up 5-0. Rachel Steinhoff knocked down a three-pointer to make it 5-3 but the Lady Panthers would score 20 of the next 21 points to take control.

The Lady Panthers made seven three-pointers in the first half and nine for the game. Guards Alice Heinzler was 4-of-7 from distance and Heather Harman added three of five.
Hailey Diestelkamp led Drury in scoring with 22 points.

Brooke Bailey scored 13 points off the bench to be the scoring leader for Truman. Bailey was 3-of-5 from the field and 7-of-9 at the foul line.

Drury had 16 steals and forced 24 turnovers and outscored the Bulldogs 24-3 in points off turnovers.

Truman returns home for the first time since January 15 when they host Rockhurst at 1 p.m. in Pershing Arena.
