COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The Truman Women's Swimming team competed at the Colorado College Tri-meet over the weekend. The first day the hosts did not participate and Truman defeated Colorado School of Mines 115-90.
On day one Truman finished with the top two places in the 200 yard medley relay, Kaylee Sisson won the 200 yard freestyle, Emma Brabham won the 50 yard freestyle, Maggie Hickey and Holly Olson finished with the top two places in the 200 yard butterfly, Lauren Massot won the 200 yard backstroke, Ginny Schranck and Annika Hofer finished 1-2 in the 200 breaststroke and won the 200 freestyle relay.
The second day all three schools participated and Truman dominated with 716 points, Mines finished second with 486 and CC third with 441. Truman took first and third place in the 300 butterfly relay, first and second in the 300 backstroke relay and 300 breaststroke relay. They also took first place in the 400 freestyle, 4x100 relay, 200 freestyle
Following the events, coach Jerod Simek said, "We were very excited and satisfied with our races today! A relay meets are always a good time and we were able to learn from some of our races yesterday and really show off our depth to win the meet. We came back strong from yesterday's meet. Overall we had a great time racing at altitude and enjoying all that Colorado Springs has to offer during fall break."
