RECAP: Truman Completes Weekend Sweep With 12-point Win Over Ursuline

Box Score (HTML)

QUINCY, Ill. – The Truman Women's Basketball team completed the sweep of the GMAC/GLIAC/GLVC conference challenge on Sunday with an 87-75 victory over Ursuline (Ohio) College. The Bulldogs will open up the home season next Saturday at 11 a.m. hosting Augustana (S.D.).

Katey Klucking continued her torrid scoring pace to start the season as she backed up her 22-point game on Saturday with 21 in Sunday's contest. She becomes the first Bulldog since Cassidy Clark late in the 2017 season to score 20 points or more in consecutive games. Klucking had just 57 points during her freshman season and made seven three-pointers. She knocked down eight of her 15 attempts (.533) over the weekend, including three in the victory on Sunday.

Katie Jaseckas' personal 4-0 run in the second quarter broke the seventh tie of the game and gave the Bulldogs a 38-34 lead that they would not surrender. Jaseckas finished with 17 points and also had a solid shooting weekend with 14-of-21 (66%) from the field.

Truman used an 8-0 run from the end of the second quarter to start of the third to build a nine-point advantage at 57-48. The Arrows closed to within five with 6:20 to go in the third but Maya Mouton completed a three-point play and Sloane Totta added a hoop to put Truman in front by 10 for the first time.

The lead would dance between seven and 14 points for the remainder of the game.

The Bulldogs shot 50.7% overall as a team and won the boards by a 43-23 margin. Truman outscored Ursuline 24-10 in second chance points and each team had over 20 turnovers.

Makenzie Bray was the third Truman player to hit double-figures with 15 points and had seven rebounds. Maddie Re added eight.
