RECAP: Truman Women Victorious In 2019-20 Debut; Klucking With 22 Points

QUINCY, Ill. – Katey Klucking led five Truman players in double-figures with a career-high 22 points as the Bulldogs pulled away in the fourth quarter for an 82-71 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday afternoon.
 
Klucking knocked down five three-pointers include a pair during an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter that broke a 58-all tie. The Rangers whittled the lead back down to four with 4:08 to play but Makenzie Bray sparked a 10-run over the final 3:55 to put the game out of reach.
 
Katie Jaseckas scored 14 points and added nine rebounds, Hannah Belanger scored 11, Sloane Totta chipped in 10 and Bray came off the bench for her 11 points. Maddie Re had only two points but was big on the boards with 12 total, 11 on the defensive end.
 
Truman shot 52% for the game and was 5-of-16 from three for 31%. The Bulldogs also dominated the glass 45-32.  
 
It will be a quick turnaround for the team as they will play Ursuline College at 1 p.m. Sunday in the second game of the GLVC/GMAC/GLIAC Conference Challenge.
