RECAP: Truman Suffers Road Loss To #18 Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Truman Women's Basketball team led by 13 points in the first half to #18 University of Sioux Falls on Wednesday night but the Cougars used a big second half push to down Truman 79-62 in the final non-conference game of the season.
 
Hannah Belanger went 6-for-6 from beyond the arc and 7-of-10 overall to lead Truman with 20 points. Katie Jaseckas scored 17 with nine rebounds and five blocked shots.
 
The Bulldogs were the dominate team in the first half leading 34-21 with 4:17 left in the first half. The team made seven of their nine three-pointers in the first 20 minutes but was just 2-of-5 from distance as the Cougars made their run.
 
Truman trailed 53-50 after Belanger hit a basket from inside the paint with 2:38 left in the third quarter. However that would be the last field goal for Truman for nearly the next eight minutes of play as USF poured it on and grabbed their largest lead of 20 points with 1:40 left to play.
 
It was the first game this season in which Truman did not win the glass (29-27.
 
The Cougars got a game-high 29 points from Kaely Hummel, who hit five of her last six three-point attempts and was 10-of-15 overall from the floor.
 
The Bulldogs will play exclusively in the Great Lakes Valley Conference the rest of the way beginning on January 2 at William Jewell in Liberty, Missouri.
