LIBERTY, Mo. – A fast start by the Truman Women's Basketball team led to a dominating 89-62 road win at William Jewell on Thursday night. Truman returns to action on Saturday at Rockhurst University, tip off time is slated for 1 p.m.

Hannah Belanger and
Katey Klucking knocked down three three-pointers and the Bulldogs scored 13 of the first 15 points out of the gate to take early control. The Cardinals tried to right the ship and got as close as five on two separate occasions later in the first but another 12-2 run by Truman put the early bow on a 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference start.

Truman led by 25 at half and the lead never dipped below 20 the rest of the game. It was the Bulldogs first win in the last four games at William Jewell.

Klucking scored 18 of her game-high 20 points in the first half and was 4-of-10 from outside. Truman splashed 10 three-pointers on the night and shot 35% from distance and 48% overall from the field.
Maddie Re picked up her ninth career double-double with a career-high 15 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Belanger finished with 14 points,
Sloane Totta added 13 and
Katie Jaseckas grabbed eight rebounds with four blocks.
