RECAP: UMSL Handles Truman Tennis On Friday

ST. LOUIS – A busy weekend of Truman Tennis kicked off with a pair of 7-0 losses to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs play Maryville in another Great Lakes Valley Conference match on Saturday at noon and return home to face William Jewell on Sunday.
 
The Triton men came in ranked in the top 50 in Division II. Griffin Turnage and Nick Thiele battled Adrian Lessing and Karl Heinrichs to a 7-5 loss at number one doubles while the Triton men took the other two doubles matches by 6-1 scores to earn the first team point of the dual.
 
In singles, UMSL won all six matches in straight sets.
 
The Bulldog women fell to 0-3 in the league with the loss. UMSL grabbed the doubles point by scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3 scores then also won the six singles matches.
