SPRINGFIELD, Ill.—After dropping their conference opener against Lewis on Friday night, the Truman Volleyball team looked to rebound and get their first GLVC win of the season as they took on Illinois-Springfield in their second match of the weekend. But the Prairie Stars came out on top 3-0.
UIS rolled in the first two sets 25-7 and 25-9. The third set got off to a promising start for the Bulldogs as they jumped out to a 4-2 lead, which included kills from Ambria Whitlock and Ellie Kaat. But UIS would rally to tie the set at five and then they never looked back. From there they took the set 25-16 and took the match 3-0.
Kaat led the team with seven kills and had a blocking assist. Elise Hardesty had 16 assists and Lauren Wacker led with 10 digs. The Bulldogs will go for their first conference win this Friday at home against Indianapolis at 7 p.m. at John J. Pershing Gym.
