Box Score (PDF)

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – A strong third quarter by the Truman Women lifted the Bulldogs to an 83-71 win over Missouri S&T on Thursday night in Pershing Arena. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Maryville University.

The Bulldogs never led in the first 20 minutes of the game as Missouri S&T connected on all four three-point attempts in the first quarter to lead 20-17 and took a 33-30 advantage into the locker room at half. Truman had an uncharacteristic 11 turnovers in the first half.

Katie Jaseckas scored 10 points in the first four minutes of the third quarter and along with Ellie Weltha scored 22 of the team's 32 points in the quarter to race on top. Weltha gave Truman their first lead at 39-38 on a nice assist from Hannah Belanger but Marta Durk drilled a three to put S&T back up.  Jaseckas then knocked down her own triple which gave the 'Dogs a lead they would not surrender.

The lead increased to as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter.

It was Truman's 10th straight victory over Missouri S&T.

Weltha and Jaseckas each notched double-doubles on the evening with Weltha scoring 13 points with 11 rebounds and Jasekcas tallied 17 with 10. Belanger led all Truman scorers with 18 points and Tiffany Davenport scored a career-high with 15 points.

Truman shot 50% from the field, was 9-of-20 from three and made all 14 free throw attempts. They won the glass 37 to 24 and outscored the Miners 38-18 in points in the paint.

Kristen Keys had a career night for S&T with 27 points in 37 minutes of play.
