Truman Women Gather Big Conference Win Over Rival Quincy

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – A second half goal by Izzy Heintz gave the Truman Women's Soccer team a key 1-0 home win over rival Quincy University on Friday afternoon in the Bulldogs annual Pink Game.
 
Chance Douglass corralled a long ball down the right side of the field and centered a pass toward the middle of the field. Heintz, at first fanned on her initial shot attempt, gathered the ball and beat QU keeper Olivia Kindt along the ground for her first goal of the season. The goal was scored in the 75th minute and was the fourth helper of the year for Douglass.
 
The goal came after Quincy had four straight shot attempts with Beth Hopwood turning aside shots in the 66th and 74th minutes of action.
 
The Hawks had the edge in shots 10-9 with a 5-4 margin in shots on goal.
 
Truman improves to 6-3-3 overall and 5-2-3 in the GLVC and will host Illinois Springfield on Sunday for Senior Day.
