Truman Football To Return To America's Crossroads Bowl

INDIANAPOLIS – The Truman State Bulldog Football team will represent the Great Lakes Valley Conference at the America's Crossroads Bowl in Hobart, Indiana on Saturday, December 4th. The Bulldogs are making their second straight appearance in the America's Crossroads Bowl and will rematch with Hillsdale (Mich.) from an earlier 2021 season game.

"Our 2021 Bulldog Football team is privileged to have the opportunity to compete one more time," said Head Coach Gregg Nesbitt. "We are honored to have the opportunity to represent Truman State along with the GLVC in the 2021 America's Crossroads Bowl against an outstanding Hillsdale College program. It's always a great day to be a Bulldogs and always excited to compete."

The Bulldogs and Chargers met at Stokes Stadium back on September 18 with Truman winning 38-24. Truman racked up 461 yards of total offense behind 164 yards from Cody Schrader and 256 passing yards from Nolan Hair while racing out to a 31-3 halftime lead.

Hillsdale scored three fourth quarter touchdowns to cut the deficit and were led by backup quarterback Jake Burger's 213 yards on 21-of-36 passing. The Chargers won six of their last eight games to finish 5-2 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and 6-5 overall.

The Bulldogs played in the inaugural America's Crossroads Bowl in 2019 when they defeated Ohio Dominican University 21-7.
