IOWA CITY - The ninth-ranked and a preseason Big 10 conference favorite, Iowa Hawkeyes, got off to a fast start and took advantage of some cold shooting by the Truman Women's Basketball team in a 102-32 exhibition victory on Thursday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Hannah Belanger led Truman in scoring with 14 points on 5-of-18 shooting.
Iowa raced out to a 22-0 lead as Truman went 1-for-19 overall and 0-of-12 shooting in the first 10 minutes of the game.
Co-national Freshman of the Year, Caitlin Clark led the Hawkeyes with 25 points.Â
The Bulldogs will get things started for real next weekend at the GLVC/GLIAC/GMAC Challenge in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Truman will face the University of Wisconsin Parkside on Friday and host Ursuline College on Saturday.
