KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State women set the odometer on cruise control and blew past McKendree 90-63 on Saturday afternoon in Pershing Arena. Hannah Pinkston and Gracie Stugart led the Bulldogs with 12 points each.
McKendree took a 12-10 lead on a pair of free throws by Clare Breden late in the first quarter but Truman scored nine of the next 14 to take a 23-15 lead.Â
The Bulldogs shot 61% for the game and were 13-of-22 from distance (59.1%). They had 22 assists on 33 made hoops and won the glass 31-24.
Of the 13 players that saw balanced action, 12 hit the scoring column. Pinkston and Stugart set new single-game collegiate highs with their 12 points each and Katey Klucking scored 11 with all coming in the first half.Â
Truman, winners of 11 of their last 12, will head out on the road for a pair of GLVC games next weekend. They will play at Lewis in Romeoville, Illinois on Thursday and at the University of Indianapolis the following Saturday.
