Swimming Splits With St. Ambrose On Saturday

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Truman State Swimming teams split a dual with St. Ambrose (Iowa) on Saturday afternoon. The women defeated the Bees 168-117 while the men fell 178-111. The Bulldogs will compete against a pair of GLVC opponents next weekend with a dual at Quincy on Friday and a home meet with McKendree on Saturday.

The Truman women won ten events with Adelaide Reaser picking up three first place finishes and also swimming the leadoff leg of the 400 free relay. Reaser won the 200 free (1:55.34), the 100 fly (59.87) and swam a season-best 4:25.69 in the 400 IM. Her 55.68 time in 400 free relay enabled the Bulldogs to claim that event as well. She was joined in that event by Kaitlyn McDaniel, Meg Heveroh and Emily Traube.

Traube picked up two wins in the meet, the first coming in the 50 free (24.98) and the next in the 100 free (54.76). She was third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:10.49.

Jahmia Harley won the 50 back with a personal best time of 1:00.56, was second in both the 50 free (25.72) and 200 back (2:13.04) and had a personal best time in the 50 back swimming the opening leg of the 200 IM at 27.99 (50 back).

Sidney Durbin had a first (200 fly - 2:15.27) and third (200 breast - 2:36.46) while Kylie Strobl (200 back - 2:11.85/200 free - 1:59.42) and Abby Bomball (1650 free - 18:26.43/500 free 5:25.46) picked up both a first and second place finishes in their events.

Kohler two first place finishes in both the 200 free (1:42.84) and 200 fly (1:54.70) events. He was second with a season-best time in the 100 fly (51.07) and swam a season best time of 47.04 in the leadoff leg of the 400 free relay.

Alex Burkhardt took a gold and posted for season-best times in his swims on Saturday. Burkhardt won the 200 IM (2:01.50), was second in the 200 back (1:57.40), fourth in the 200 free (1:47.66) and his leadoff 50 yard back of 26.63 in the 200 medley relay.

Other event winners for the men were Jacob Pocivasek (21.34 - 50 free) and Jaxson Mahlstadt (2:13.92 - 200 breast).
