HILLSDALE, Mich. - Hannah Belanger's 25 points was not enough to give Truman State the win against Hillsdale College in the GLVC/G-MAC Challenge, as the Bulldogs lost 98-90 in overtime.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-12 lead in the first quarter, but the Chargers came back and made it a one-point Truman lead at the end of the first.
Hillsdale took their first lead of the game with 1:46 left in the first half. There would be four more lead changes in the game.
Truman took a game-high 10-point lead in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs were unable to hold off the Chargers.
Trailing 80-78 with 0:48 left in the game, Truman's Ellie Weltha made a layup that would send the game into overtime.
In overtime, the Chargers scored 10-straight, leading 90-80 with 1:07 left. Hillsdale would win the game by eight.
Hannah Belanger scored a team-high 25 points on 8-21 shooting, five of those being 3-pointers.
Hillsdale's Grace Touchette scored 31 points.
Truman plays game two of the GLVC/G-MAC Challenge against Ursuline on Sunday, November 12, at noon (ET).
