FAYETTE, Iowa - Hannah Belanger's incredible performance helped push Truman ahead of Upper Iowa 97-90 in overtime.
Belanger scored 36 points, tied for fifth most in a game in Truman history.
Truman shot 16-38 in the first half, compared to Upper Iowa's 14-34. The Bulldogs went into the half up 39-34.
Down 79-78 in the fourth quarter, Upper Iowa's Lydia Haack made an and-1 layup with four seconds left to take a two-point lead after making her free throw. The Bulldogs called a timeout, and Ellie Weltha made a layup with two seconds left to tie the game 81-81 and take it into overtime.
Truman pulled away in overtime, leaving Iowa with a seven-point win over the Peacocks.
Belanger shot 12-23 from the field, while making 12-13 free throws. She also added six assists and four rebounds in her historic game.
Hannah Pinkston had a huge game too, scoring 21 points on 9-14 shooting.
