MARYVILLE, Mo. - Brendan Baker earned a fifth-place finish in the men's weight throw as the Truman Track & Field teams wrapped up competition at the Bearcat Invite on Saturday at Northwest Missouri State University.
Baker was the highest placing Bulldog in the event with a toss of 18.10m while Bobby Campbell was eighth with a mark of 17.72m.Â
Kelly Hoskins cleared a season-high 4.31m (14-01.75) to finish ninth in the pole vault and was also ninth in the men's triple jump with a career best 13.64m (44-09.00). His previous mark was 12.64m (41-05.75).
The women's distance medley relay of Molly Lies, Sophie Oxandale, Alayna Pipkin and Addie Mathis was third on Friday with a time of 13:24.47.
Also on Friday, Thomas Cormier was 10th in the men's 5000 meter run with a time of 15:13.26.Â
Grace Feeney was a 13th in the pentathlon after scoring 2,883 points. Her best event finish was 7th in the shot put (10.95m) while the most points scored in a single event was 699 with a 10.07 run in the opening 60m hurdles.
Among the other top season-best performances for the Bulldogs were Brett Griesbaum with a 1:20.84 in the men's 600 meter run. Brianna Barton's 27.00 in the women's 200 meter run. Oxandale and Hally Blackwell in the 400. Oxandale ran 1:00.03 and Blackwell 1:05.79 and Addie Mathis ran 11:04.04 in the women's 3,000.
The Bulldogs will be at the Darren Young Invitational, hosted by Grinnell College next weekend before heading to the GLVC Championships in Indianapolis on February 26-27.
