Canton, Mo.- The Truman State track and field program had an impressive showing at the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Invitational, with the women's team finishing second out of 15 teams and the men's squad placing third out of 18 teams.
Women's Team
The Bulldogs got a standout performance from Kaela Perez, who was one of the meet's top individual performers. Perez won the 400 hurdles outright with a time of 1:05.20, then added a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles at 16.02. She also anchored Truman's 4x400 B relay team that posted a 4:14.48.
Laurie Leroy took first place in the hammer throw with a heave of 49.11 meters (161'1"), one of the biggest individual wins for the Bulldogs on the field. Vada Moore won the long jump at 5.44 meters (17'10.25"), and Addy Brown placed third in the shot put (10.87m) and seventh in the discus (33.13m).
In the 400 meters, Tess Harper and Julia Brown came through with strong runs, finishing third and fourth respectively with times of 59.22 and 1:00.11. The distance crew was equally productive. Anna Ripley placed second in the 5,000 meters (18:04.13), while Clare Stahr took third (18:16.74). Kate Doyle, Ellie Webb, Sarah Williams, and Breanna Mathes followed in fourth through seventh. In the 1500 meters, Truman dominated the scoring positions, with Williams (4:44.56), Stahr (4:45.63), Kendra Zeilstra (4:47.78), and Ripley (4:48.92) finishing fifth through eighth.
Taegen Novel tied for third in the high jump at 1.47 meters (4'9.75"), and Addy Winder placed third in the pole vault at 2.63 meters (8'7.5"). The Truman A 4x400 relay team of Harper, Jocelyn Dorsey, Phoebe Canatsey, and Maddie Sims came in fourth at 4:08.87.
Men's Team
The throws corps led the way for the men's team. Tyler Davis won the shot put at 15.22 meters (49'11.25"), with Justin McKim (14.50m) and Alex Long (14.41m) rounding out a Truman sweep of the top four. Carl Aaron took first in the discus at 44.51 meters (146'0"), with Long adding a third-place finish (43.82m) and Tucker Harvey fourth (43.14m). In the hammer, Jackson Figo finished sixth at 44.36 meters (145'6").
Max McMullin tied for second in the high jump at 1.91 meters (6'3.25"), and Gus Lawler placed fourth in the pole vault (4.05m / 13'3.5").
On the track, Willem Hummel led the 800 meter corps with a third-place finish at 1:56.36. Trevor Norman was fifth in the 110 hurdles (15.27), while the men's A 4x400 relay team of Wyatt Gustafson, Michael Bottary, Brandon Howard, and Alex Marberry ran a strong 3:25.68 to place third. In the 400 meters, Marberry added a fifth-place finish individually at 51.09. Evan Wilke posted a seventh-place effort in the 1500 meters at 4:15.45.

The Bulldogs will travel to Drake, Iowa to participate in the prestigious Drake Relays between April 22nd and 25th. This will be the final regular season meet before the GLVC Championships.
