Truman State track and field athletes Aidan Hayes and Hayden Long were named to the 2026 USTFCCCA Division II All-Midwest Region Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
Hayes, a sophomore javelin thrower, earned the honor after posting the second-best mark in the Midwest region with a throw of 61.43m at the GLVC Outdoor Championships. Long, a senior multi-event standout, secured his All-Region selection with the region's second-best decathlon performance, totaling 6,871 points at the conference meet.
The USTFCCCA recognizes the top five individuals in each event from each of the organization's eight regions. The Midwest Region includes schools from the GLVC, GLIAC, and other Division II conferences across the region.
Hayes delivered his season-best performance when it mattered most, claiming the GLVC javelin title with his 61.43m throw at Southwest Baptist University. The mark ranks second in the Midwest region for the 2026 outdoor season and represents a significant breakthrough for the sophomore.
Long capped his decorated Truman career by winning the GLVC decathlon championship with 6,871 points. The senior dominated the two-day, 10-event competition, capturing individual decathlon event titles in the javelin (56.10m) and discus (44.41m) while posting strong marks across all disciplines. His point total stands as the second-highest in the Midwest region this season.
Both Hayes and Long contributed key points to the Bulldogs' sixth-place men's team finish at the conference championships, helping cap a successful 2026 outdoor campaign for Truman State track and field.
The USTFCCCA All-Region teams serve as a key metric for postseason recognition in Division II track and field, highlighting the top performers across the country in the sport's eight competitive regions.
