RESULTS
PELLA, Iowa - Truman State's Jacob Morris won three of the four throwing events, Kelly Hoskins won the men's pole vault and three Bulldog women, Kristen Poole, Sophie Oxandale and Natalie Telep were individual event winners at the Central (Iowa) College Dutch Invite on Saturday.
Morris improved on his NCAA provisional mark in the discus by throwing 51.43, up from last week's 51.36 meters. He would win the hammer with a mark of 52.59 and the shot put at 14.51. Morris was the silver medalist in the javelin with a mark of 47.42 meters.
Hoskins cleared 3.95 to take top honors in the pole vault, Jake Higgs set a personal best by going over 3.05 to tie for sixth. Higgs also set a new height in the high jump after crossing 1.75 meters for the bronze.
Thomas Cormier finished third in the men's 1500 with a personal best time of 4:08.52.
The women racked up 158.3 points to finish second in the team standings. The Bulldogs claimed the top four spots in the javelin with Natalie Telep taking first at 39.78 meters, Lea Moose was next with a personal best of 38.84, Quinn Albertson was third at 37.21 and Jaylynn Martin was fourth at 36.00.
Telep finished second in the shot put after besting her previous top measurement with a put of 11.68 meters. Elaina Gorton was fourth.
Kirsten Poole claimed the gold in the 400 meter hurdles (1:07.61), the was third in the 100 hurdles (17.00). Sophie Oxandale won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24.26 with teammate Addie Mathis on her heels at 2:24.88, good for second.
Lexy Henrikson was Truman's top runner in the 1500 (5:03.81) with a silver finish and was followed across the line by Cory Stimpson (5:07.97).
Grace Feeney was second in the 100 hurdles (16.55) and was second in the high jump (1.45).
Oxandale, Feeney, Hally Blackwell and Audrey Gilmore teamed up to run 4:06.74 and win the women's 4x400 meter relay.
The Bulldogs will return to the Jim Duncan Invitational, hosted by Drake University next Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.
