KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman tennis team lost their 2022 home opener to Missouri Valley on Tuesday 4-3.

The Bulldogs top doubles pair Allie Brown and Akansha Negi fought back from a 2-5 deficit to win the match 7-6, then taking the tie-breaking match 7-2.

Missouri Valley won the second doubles and had to forfeit the third, giving Truman a 1-0 lead.

Allie Brown won the first singles match 2-6, 6-1, and 10-5 in the super-tiebreaker before the Vikings went on to take the next four to secure the win. Missouri Valley had to forfeit their final singles match.

Julia Fangman showed great effort but lost a heartbreaking singles match 3-6, 6-4, 10-12.

Tennis will be back in action Saturday, September 24, against Saint Ambrose in Kirksville at noon.
